Reflection: Week 2
Diving further into this class it's great to not just see, but experience the variety of platforms available to us. Because of this class I am working in programs and applications that I would never have considered viable for eLearning instructional material, but now that I've had the opportunity to actually "play" I can see the strengths and weaknesses.
I created an instagram account, something I never thought I'd do. It's an interesting platform and as the professor mentioned I can see how learners might feel uncomfortable mixing business with pleasure. With that said, depending on the context, instagram definitely holds some value in the web 2.0 world.
I also started a pintrest board for our assignment. I had dabbled in pintrest, purely for entertainment value, in the past. My biggest question was about analytics and it turns out you can convert your personal account into a business account for free and then there is a pretty robust backend with the information I was looking for!
Interacting with my fellow students, and industry professionals in my chosen learning communities, it is refreshing to see so many people excited to put in the effort and put out some great, thought provoking, content. I'm looking forward to seeing what we as a class come up with next!
Thanks for sharing the Pinterest business account info! I didn't know that:). Learning something new every day in EME6414!
