Time for some R&D
Looking to join two social media communities. I've posted in r/instructionaldesign in hopes of getting in with a good CoP and gain some ID knowledge while also fulfilling the requirements for the assignment. That's going to be my active community. Any suggestions on a good passive (lurking) community that deals with ID? Leave your suggestions in the comments.
Looks like we will be "Redditing" together; I've chosen that as my active community also. Have you used it before?
ReplyDeleteFor a lurking community possibly a Facebook group?
Hi Rebecca! So far so good with r/instructionaldesign! I made my first post yesterday and I've already received some great feedback.
DeleteAs for facebook, I've been going cold turkey on that site for about 6 weeks now and loving it haha. I'm thinking of taking the suggestions from one of the redditors and following a group on LinkedIn.
No way, this is awesome! This is going to be my active community as well...I didn't realize so many others would have the same idea. I have been lurking and sometimes posting on this community for 6 months or so now, and they are very helpful. It isn't as active as it could be, but I think it will be perfect for this assignment.
ReplyDeleteHey Devlin! Glad to see we're on the same page with Reddit. I go there for practically any questions I have. The communities there are great (in most threads haha).
DeleteWelp, I spoke to Vanessa and it seems like I should use a different community since I have already been active on the subreddit for several months. Now I am trying out the ELH weekly challenges (https://community.articulate.com/hubs/e-learning-challenges) to hopefully get some feedback on my course design, see a lot of eLearning examples, and push myself to create more with Storyline.
DeleteAnyway, I saw a couple of your posts on the subreddit and you are getting some great comments! I actually have a really good portfolio example link that I will go and post on your thread right now (I found it on a previous ID subreddit post)
Hi Kyle! I'm a rookie Reddit-er (is there a catchier name I may be missing out on?), but have been exploring the Instructional Design thread and got sucked in! It's incredibly interesting to poke around and explore! Love the advice and supportive comments I've seen. Thanks so much for posting the link!
